I went shopping in Paragon whilst waiting for my darling to come pick me up and I wandered into Metro and spotted the Givenchy mascara I wanted to try. The lady sauntered over lazily and when she saw me eyeing that mascara in particular, gave me a rather smug look and just stood there waiting. I had to prompt her about the product and she didn't seem very interested in selling it. Then she told me "anyway it is sold out" in a condescending tone. She could've told me it was sold out earlier AND still be most willing to demonstrate the product to me AND inform me should stocks arrive. BUT she did not tell me early on, was absolutely unwilling and uninterested, and only said stocks arrive next week after I asked.

I'm usually quite forgiving of service staff unless they step on my tail and fail in the most basic of human courtesies. She definitely failed on all counts. I'm very happy to stick with my tried and tested mascaras from Lancome, Chanel, Dior, all of which have shown good customer service.
Givenchy, I will never look at that brand again.

A few days back, I dropped by the Chanel counter at Robinsons Centerpoint and while I was merely browsing, the sales assistant was professional and forthcoming, explaining that my usual Chanel foundation was being replaced by a new range, offering to color test for me again, and eventually I purchased a product from her, even though I could've saved a fair bit from duty free. Chanel has never failed me in my expectations. From Singapore, to New York, to Tokyo, and even to Honolulu. Imagine my surprise when getting home from my dream vacation to Hawaii, I find a thank you card from Chanel all the way from Honolulu. Now that's what service should be all about.

p/s: Shangri-La, PS Cafe@Harding, Flutes at the Fort, Thank you for the good food and the excellent service!
